This Widely-Debated Pepsi Flavor is Back Thanks to Little Caesars

It’s 2024 and pizza lovers around the world are ever-increasingly fragile when it comes to one hot-button debate: does pineapple belong on pizza? This author says duh, of course it does. Does Pepsi believe pineapple belongs on pizza? Well, they believe it belongs in soda at least.

May we reintroduce to the zeitgest Pineapple Pepsi.

Beginning today, July 1st, fans of Little Caesars can give their usual order a summertime refresh with some Crazy Puffs and Pepsi Pineapple.

“Little Caesars fans love coming in for exclusive flavors they can’t get anywhere else — we saw that last year within the first week of releasing Pepsi Pineapple in restaurants,” said Greg Hamilton, Chief Marketing Officer, Little Caesars. “This summer, we’re offering customers the ultimate combo of flavor and value with our Crazy Puffs and Pepsi Pineapple deal to celebrate its triumphant return.”

When Pepsi Pineapple first debuted amidst the chaos of the 2020 Pandemic, the news seemed to sink to the bottom of the news cycle. With almost half a decade gone, Little Caesars decided it was time to give the tropical soda a fighting chance. Last year, Little Caesars debuted their limited-edition branded cans to the public to (mostly) high praise.

“Pineapple on pizza may still be debatable, but pizza lovers have made Pepsi Pineapple a clear winner. We’re thrilled to be bringing Pepsi Pineapple back to Little Caesars to give customers more of the unapologetic flavor they love and make every bite of pizza taste better with Pepsi,” said Scott Finlow, Chief Marketing Officer of PepsiCo Global Foodservice.

Of course the company producing the product will boast its audience’s demand for a return, but is the public calling for a second drop? The reviews from its initial release seem mixed:

Unapologetic seems to be a fitting descriptor for the widely debated pineapple soda. At the end of the day, pineapple is here to stay and our friends at Pepsi and Little Caesars are happy to make it possible.
