Pepsi’s New Prebiotic Soda Wants To Fix Your Gut

Pepsi’s latest cola isn’t just gunning for your tastebuds, it’s coming for your gut health, too.
Introducing Pepsi Prebiotic Cola, a new spin on the classic fizzy sip we all grew up with, now reworked with 3 grams of prebiotic fiber per can. That’s right, Pepsi is getting into the functional soda space—30 calories, 5 grams of cane sugar, zero artifical sweeteners, and still somehow delivering the same nostalgic crispness that’s carried the brand for over 125 years.
Rolling out in Original Cola and Cherry Vanilla, Pepsi Prebiotic Cola arrives as part of the brand’s bid to offer more choice in the soda aisle—something they’re clearly doubling down on, especially after acquiring functional soda darling Poppi earlier this year.
“We can’t wait for the world to try the taste,” said PepsiCo Beverages U.S. CEO Ram Krishnan, who framed this launch as the “next leap forward” in functional fizzy innovation without ditching that signature Pepsi flavor.
Cans will first hit online stores this fall before popping up on shelves early 2026—sold in 12oz singles and 8-packs, right alongside the OGs.
So if your soda’s feeling a little one dimensional lately, this might be your gut-check moment.
