#Bloggergate Cafe Owner Cyberbullies Blogger, Then Invoices Her $5 Million For Publicity Gained

#bloggergate

A hotel and cafe in Dublin, Ireland, is demanding money from a blogger they cyberbullied on social media as part of a recent scandal known as #Bloggergate.

The blogger, Elle Darby, had reached out to the White Moose Cafe in hopes of a potential partnership. She wrote in a message that in exchange for a free room, she would publicize the White Moose on her social media feeds and in video uploads.

Instead, White Moose owner Paul Stenson posted the letter on Facebook and scorned Darby. Her name wasn’t given at first, but after seeing how the hotel owner dragged her through the mud online without any notification, Darby later came forward in a YouTube video. Since then, social media has exploded over the entire drama, with most siding with Darby.

Stenson has since banned bloggers from his establishment and created merchandise about the #bloggergate incident, all while accusing bloggers of being freeloaders and playing victim when they don’t get what they want.

Following those events, Stenson decided to cyberbully Darby even further. His latest attack consisted of an invoice charging her $4.3 million Euros (over $5.3 million US Dollars) and posting it on social media. Stenson justified the amount through a LinkedIn post that said how much each business (his and Darby’s) would have made off of the publicity of #bloggergate, respectively. Darby’s total was about double what Stenson would’ve made off of the scandal.

Darby has since made a follow-up video about the abusive messages, threats, and further fallout from Stenson’s bizarre social media postings. Stenson has yet to apologize for any of the hatred, bullying, and abuse that he has brought upon Darby.
