MrBeast Is Making More Money From Chocolate Than YouTube

MrBeast, aka Jimmy Donaldson, isn’t just the world’s most-subscribed YouTuber—he’s also a wildly successful entrepreneur. Known for his over-the-top stunts, massive cash giveaways, and philanthropic efforts, he’s built an empire far beyond YouTube. Surprisingly, his biggest moneymaker isn’t content creation but chocolate. In 2024, his snack brand Feastables pulled in $251 million in sales, netting $20 million in profit. Meanwhile, his YouTube empire—including his Amazon Prime reality show, Beast Games—brought in a similar amount but ran at a staggering $80 million loss. Turns out, selling chocolate is more profitable than giving away millions.

MrBeast is no slouch when it comes to producing costly content. According to Bloomberg, his average YouTube video costs between $3 million and $4 million, and it’s challenging to recoup those expenses. His company Beast Industries makes most of its revenue from commerce, primarily from his chocolate brand Feastables. Though unconfirmed by MrBeast, Bloomberg forecasts that Feastables will triple in size over the next two years, whereas revenue from content will only make up one-fifth of Beast Industries’ sales.

Beast Industries appears to be making a major shift towards consumer products. The company is a shareholder in the snack brand Lunchly, and owns a software firm that sells analytical tools to content creators called Viewstats. Additionally, MrBeast plans to release several new products that include beverages, a snack line, and a cereal brand. Not to mention launching a mobile gaming platform next year.

His expansion into consumer products reflects a growing trend among social media personalities. Podcast host Alex Cooper, for example, recently launched a drink brand named Unwell, and Emma Chamberlain, another popular content creator and podcaster, opened a cafe in Los Angeles named Chamberlain Coffee. Prime energy is another example, co-founded by Logan Paul, who is also partners with MrBeast on Lunchly.
