How To Get Free McDonald’s During The Holidays

In the last couple of months, McDonald’s has been partnering up with celebrities to highlight special orders based on their favorite menu items. This holiday, however, they’re pivoting towards something a little more whimsical.

McDonald’s is highlighting the favorite meals of fictional Christmas characters in this month’s latest promotion. Even better, all those meals will be free.

Here’s how it works.

Starting Dec. 14, McDonald’s will highlight fictional holiday characters and their favorite McDonald’s cravings (think Buddy the elf and hotcakes) and give away that item for free.

The catch is that this is done only through the McDonald’s mobile app and requires a minimum of $1 to claim the free item.

Highlighted items this holiday season includes the aforementioned free hotcakes, the Abominable Snow Monster’s free Big Mac, Gizmo’s free 6-piece nuggets, and free chocolate chip cookies courtesy of Santa. Not sure why they’re lumping Santa with all these fictional folks, though.
