Girl Scouts to Raise Cookie Prices and Release New Flavors

If you’re the kind of person who sits around waiting for Girl Scout cookie season to roll around again, that’s creepy, so stop it.

Anyway, there’s good news and bad news coming out of the Girl Scout camp. The good news is that a couple of new flavors will be joining the famous lineup in 2015. The bad news is that if you live in Los Angeles, you’re going to have to fork over $1 more than you’re accustomed to.

Northern California was affected by a $1 price jump in 2014, so little by little, this price hike is creeping up on customers.

For everyone else not affected by the increase, you’ll get to enjoy the new flavors for the regular ol’ $4 price point, for now.

If you take a look at the Girl Scout Cookie site, you’ll notice Toffee-tastic and Rah-Rah Raisins have already been added to the list of cookies these little girls will sucker you into buying. You’ll also notice that the Dulce de Leche and Thank You Berry Much flavors are no longer in the lineup.

The Rah-Rah Raisins are made with whole grain oats, and will have raisins and Greek yogurt-flavored chunks mixed in. The Toffee-tastic cookies will be butter-based and gluten-free, and of course they will have crunchy toffee bits inside.

So this gives you a new reason to be excited for 2015, unless you live in Los Angeles and have to deal with the price hike. It’s also an unsettling warning that those prices could affect everyone someday.

Until then, enjoy your delicious Do-si-Dos, Samoas and Toffee-tastics.
