This Steakhouse Says Nude Dining Is Helping Keep The Business Alive
At C.L.A.S.S. Steakhouse Soiree, a Hollywood, Florida-based fine-dining restaurant owned by Chef Maurad Ali, clothing is now optional. That’s because, Chef Ali has been offering a five-course nude dining experience for the last three months, which he says has been pivotal in keeping his business afloat.
C.L.A.S.S., an acronym for culinary, luxury, and superb service, has operated for eight years and is open every day from 6 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The first Monday of every month, however, is set aside for anyone who doesn’t mind stripping bare among fellow steak-loving free spirits.
Ali assures that the restaurant’s windows are covered with blackout blinds, each guest receives an optional robe and lap towel, and staff sanitize the leather seats after each event. Basically, it’s bare buns to cushions, and Ali is well aware the concept isn’t for everyone. That’s exactly the point. His aim is simply to create a safe space where people can connect, build community, and enjoy delicious food.
The idea came from a guest who rented out the restaurant for a nude dining party, and for Chef Ali, it’s all about surviving in today’s tough economy.
If pairing pork chops with cheeks or scallops with scrotes is your get down, C.L.A.S.S. is holding its next nude dining experience on September 7. Oh, and vegan options are available, too.
