Fox Business contributor: “You want to know how bad inflation is? Yesterday, yes, I had a nice lunch at Taco Bell — cost me about $28 at Taco Bell for lunch.”— Eric Kleefeld (@EricKleefeld) October 12, 2022
Um, how is that even physically possible? (Also, don’t think I’ll take financial advice from this guy.) pic.twitter.com/cdK39TlLO8
In a recent post shared by twitter user @EricKleefeld, Fox Business contributor, Scott Martin, uses his $28 Taco Bell order as an example of how bad inflation has gotten. The admission immediately came under scrutiny, as he was immediately asked in disbelief, “Wait a minute, you spent $28 at Taco Bell for just yourself?” while another simply laughed before adding, “That’s alotta chalupas!”
While it’s true inflation has been a hot topic as of late with everything from food to gas prices soaring, Twitter users still found it hard to believe a single Taco Bell order now costs $28. In response to the clip, folks began chiming in, sparking a hilarious debate.
@KeeshaStrand questioned the cost, divulging her unique appetite:
In response, @PopeJupiter gave added support:
One guy confirmed the increased cost by sharing his recent order:
Twitter user @sleepydad9 questioned the contributor's financial advice, but welcomed toilet recommendations:
Another user, @trebuchet_guy, was so inspired they came up with a TikTok challenge:
Later @EricKleefeld verified the order in question by providing screenshots:
Unfortunately, it’s looking like inflation will continue its upward trend for now. While hilarious Twitter debates are always welcomed, fingers crossed things don’t get that out of hand.
