Heineken Introduces A Zero-Calorie Non-Alcoholic Beer

The non-alcoholic beer boom isn’t slowing down anytime soon, and Heineken is making another push to stay ahead of it.

The brand just introduced Heineken 0.0 Ultimate, a new alcohol-free brew that takes the NA formula even further: zero alcohol, zero calories, and zero sugar. If that sounds like a minimalist spec sheet, that’s kind of the point.

Heineken helped bring non-alcoholic beer back into the mainstream in the U.S. when it launched Heineken 0.0 in 2019. Since then, the category has quietly turned into one of the fastest-growing spaces in beer. According to the Brewers Association, U.S. non-alcoholic beer sales jumped 159% between 2021 and 2025, with volume rising 111% during the same stretch.

Much of that growth is being driven by younger drinkers who are embracing “sober curious” habits while still wanting something that feels social. In other words, people still want to hang out with a drink in hand. They just don’t necessarily want the alcohol.

Heineken 0.0 Ultimate is designed to meet that moment. The beer features light fruity notes layered over a subtle malty backbone, built to deliver the familiar snap of a cold lager without the alcohol or calories.

The company first piloted the brew in 2025, and now it’s expanding into select states including New York, Texas, Florida, Washington, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and several others.

For Heineken, the move isn’t just another product launch. It’s a signal that the future of beer might include just as many zero-proof options as traditional ones.
