Some Of Your Favorite Childhood Cereals Are Becoming Wild New Desserts

Chain, who recently announced a pop-up restaurant concept inside a mall food court spearheaded by B.J. Novak, Roy Choi, Calvin Eng, Mason Hereford and Mei Lin, just rolled out a lineup of collaborative snacks with General Mills.

The two brands teamed up to put new spins on popular General Mills cereals through Chain’s “Snack Lab,” a test kitchen for limited-edition snack and dessert concepts. To kick things off, Snack Lab is introducing seven original desserts and drinks inspired by Reese’s Puffs, Golden Grahams, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms, Cookie Crisp, Honey Nut Cheerios and Trix. Here’s what to expect:

• Lucky Charms Taco Frío: A vanilla waffle taco shell filled with Lucky Charms cereal-flavored milk ice cream, marshmallow fluff, rainbow marshmallow pieces and white chocolate crunch, dipped in a white chocolate shell and finished with colorful Lucky Charms dust.
  
• Honey Nut Cheerios Matcha Cloud: Ceremonial-grade matcha layered over chilled honey cereal-flavored milk with salted honey cold foam, toasted oat praline and Honey Nut Cheerios crunch, finished with a glossy honey drizzle and a light dusting of matcha.
  
• Reese’s Puffs Churros: Three hot churros dressed with hot fudge, peanut butter, cereal-flavored milk icing and chocolate sauce, then topped with Reese’s Puffs cereal crumble.
  
• Golden Grahams Toasted S’Mores Bar: A warm, oversized brown-butter cereal treat made with Golden Grahams, toasted marshmallow and graham cracker crumble, finished with milk chocolate ganache, brûléed marshmallow fluff and a heavy dusting of cinnamon cereal sugar.
  
• Cinnamon Toast Crunch Tiramisu: Layers of espresso-soaked cinnamon sponge, mascarpone cream and Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal crunch, finished with cinnamon-cocoa dust, caramelized cereal pieces and a touch of flaky salt for a nostalgic spin on classic tiramisu.
  
• Ice Cream Cookie Crisp-wich: Two oversized cookies studded with Cookie Crisp cereal and filled with malted vanilla cereal-flavored milk ice cream, creating a mash-up of an ice cream sandwich and a bowl of cookies and milk.
  
• Trix Berry Swirl Slush: Raspberry and orange creamsicle slush layered with Trix cereal-flavored milk foam, crushed Trix cereal and rainbow fruit-flavored cereal brittle.

Chain’s six-month residency launches September 2 at Westfield Topanga Mall in Los Angeles. Along with a specially curated menu featuring Choi’s Charred Chicken Teriyaki Bowl, Eng’s Crispy Cantonese Fishwich, Hereford’s Spicy Chicken Chainwich, Lin’s Mapo Wagyu Cruncho and more, Chain plans to roll out limited-edition product drops and seasonal activations throughout the residency.
