Chick-Fil-A Sued For Serving Rat Sandwich To Customer

A rat sandwich is definitely the last thing you want to find when you order a fast food meal. Unfortunately, one woman in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, found a rat baked into her Chick-Fil-A sandwich. She's now suing the chain as a result of the horrifying discovery.

According to Philly.com, Ellen Manfalouti recently filed the lawsuit against a local restaurant and its franchise owner in Bucks County court after discovering that her sandwich contained a dead rat baked into the bread back in November 2016. The rat sandwich apparently scarred the woman, leaving her with nausea, anxiety, and eating troubles for months afterward.

While the events happened nearly 10 months ago, the lawsuit was just filed last week. Manfalouti's lawyer is suing the Chick-fil-A franchise owner and store for "stonewalling" attempts to address what happened. Apparently, Chick-Fil-A has been in a perpetual cycle of pushing off blame to the next guy throughout the investigation. The company first blamed the franchise owner, who blamed the bakery, whose insurance company then denied liability. Months have gone by with no resolution to Manfalouti's rat sandwich discovery, ultimately leading to the lawsuit last week.

Manfalouti and her lawyer are seeking $50,000 for the "physical and psychological injuries" she incurred for nearly biting into the rat in her sandwich. The franchise owner and the Chick-Fil-A where the events transpired both declined to comment on the litigation.
