Heir To Frito-Lay Empire Found Dead In L.A. Home

Jesse Chapman Carter Lay, the grandson of Frito-Lay founder Herman Lay, was found dead in his Los Angeles home Thursday, according to TMZ.

Lay, 44, was found unconscious by police and CPR attempts failed as he was pronounced dead on the scene.

According to Daily Mail, Lay was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2012, but beat it 15 months after being diagnosed with the cancer.

They still have to conduct an autopsy, but no foul play is suspected at this point.

According to AP, Lay was known for his philanthropy and support of music education.

His last Tweet in July shows a bit of his philanthropic spirit:

His Carter Lay Charitable Fund has been raising awareness and supports research for children’s hospitals.

Lay is survived by his two children.
