Bear Cup Mania Is Real, And Every Brand Has Entered The Chat
Starbuck’s holiday-themed Bearista Cup has become all the rage with consumers standing in lines prior to stores opening to get their hands on one of the adorable bear-shaped chalice with a Starbuck’s-branded green beanie straw holder.
The cups have also inspired other brands to get in on the act, either via social media or with alternative cups that you can buy.
JOLLIBEE
Jollibee asked customers if they should make their own, changing the bear’s green hat to their signature red. Not sure why they didn’t go for a bee cup, though.
STAPLES
Staples decided to make things “easier” for Bear Cup fans by making its own complete with its signature “Easy” button.
IKEA
IKEA Canada (noticing a trend here?) went plushy with their concept, simply sticking a straw into the head of one of their stuffed teddy bears.
WALMART
Walmart’s Bear Cup with Straw which looks just like the Starbuck’s version sans logo. Additionally, Walmart also sells Snowman, Reindeer and Penguin versions. They also spoofed the craze with a Taylor Swift-inspired Instagram post.
Amazon also has a Cute Glass Bear Cup with Straw in two colors–green and yellow, while Aldi went in a similar yet different route with its gingerbread man ornament-style glass sipper cup
Some might argue that all of these cups, including Starbucks’, were inspired by the OG Honey Bear cups that mimic Honey Bear bottles.
If none of these cups fit your fancy, there are also a host of creators who went the DIY route and made their own bear cups.
With the Bearista Cup sold out everywhere and some being resold for hundreds of dollars, the only question we have is why didn’t the Chicago Bears get in on this?
