Pop vs. Soda: The Debate Intensified [INFOGRAPHIC]

Pop Vs Soda is a scientific project utilizing the world wide web to gather and process data from across the English-speaking North America in order to plot the regional variations in the use of terms referring to soft drinks, including “Pop“, “Soda“, “Coke” and “other”. The result is a colorful and rather introspective look into the culture of vernacular across America, starting with the way we refer to carbonated drinks. It’s amazing to note at first glance that people in California will use the term “Soda”, while Texans will call it “coke” all-the-while the northern states bordering Canada call it “Pop”. The website PopVsSoda.com gives a slightly more interactive and live feed of the changes in soda/pop/coke culture across the country. Join the study!
