Farmer Boys Announces Teacher As Bacon Intern Winner

As most of you may remember, Farmer Boys announced a campaign to find a bacon intern in early August. The intern will take home $1,ooo in exchange for a full day’s shift of eating Farmer Boys’ delicious bacon entreés. In order to win, contestants had to make creative posts about why they’d be a good fit for the role.

Mona Godfrey, a Southern California high school teacher, is the ideal Bacon Intern. Her submission video convinced Larry Rusinko, Farmer Boys’ Vice President, that, “Mona Godfrey has bacon fever!” Filmed and edited by a high school student, Rusinko also praised her video for its “creativity and unique celebration of bacon.” Additionally, Godfrey’s video includes a bacon song that plays over photos of her with bacon paraphernalia.

Based on the description alone, we can all agree with Rusinko when he says, “Godfrey went above and beyond to show us just how much bacon means to her.” If that wasn’t enough, Godfrey herself remarks, “I’m pretty sure a butcher was my first babysitter and I teethed on bacon strips and jerky.”

Godfrey will complete her shift the week of September 9th, in Perris, California, where she will have to rate each strip of bacon for flavor and thickness.

Mona’s submission video can be found here.
