‘Sushi Donuts’ Are The Latest Sushi Trend, And You Can Make Them At Home

You’ve probably seen sushi burritos and maybe even sushi burgers, but get ready for the latest sushi innovation: Sushi Donuts.

The first evidence of the donut’s existence was on @sobeautifullyraw‘s Instagram account, as her savory donuts have a sushi rice base and are topped with black sesame, ginger, wasabi, cashew “mayo” & avocado.

You’re probably wondering where the heck the fish is, but @sobeautifullyraw specializes in vegan dishes, which gives a different perspective on not only these donuts, but sushi in general.

She basically just greased a donut mold with coconut oil, then added the cooled sushi rice. After carefully flipping the pan upside down to get them out, she proceeded to top the rice with her vegan-friendly ingredients.
