E. Coli Outbreak Forces Costco To Pull Their Epic Rotisserie Chicken Salad

Just days after Chipotle got hit with a pretty massive E. Coli outbreak, Costco felt the fever as they were forced to pull rotisserie chicken salads from seven different states.

While there were no deaths reported, 19 people were affected, two of which contracted Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome, a type of kidney failure that has been known to cause permanent organ damage, according to Reuters.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention said that the seven states affected were California, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Montana, Missouri and Virginia.

At least in Colorado, the four people affected have fully recovered, according to NBC News.

On November 20, Costco was notified about the E. Coli link and immediately stopped selling their chicken salads.

The CDC said that if anyone bought the salads on that day, not to eat them, obviously.

CDC also said that it was a different E. Coli strain from the Chipotle outbreak.
