KFC And OREO Somehow Made Fried Chicken-Flavored Cookies

KFC’s famous fried chicken has officially made its way into an OREO.

OREO China has teamed up with KFC to release a limited-edition fried chicken-flavored OREO, swapping the brand’s signature sweet creme for a savory filling inspired by KFC’s legendary Original Recipe seasoning.

From the outside, the cookie looks like a standard OREO with its familiar chocolate wafers. Bite into it, though, and you’ll find a creme designed to capture the flavor of KFC’s 11 herbs and spices, complete with savory seasoning and salty notes—minus the actual chicken.

The collaboration debuted in China on July 31 as part of OREO’s limited-edition “Playful Time Travel” collection.

The crossover doesn’t stop at the cookie itself. The packaging trades OREO’s iconic blue for KFC’s signature red-and-white color palette, while each cookie features a KFC logo embossed on one wafer. The collection also includes a Retro Popcorn flavor, available on its own or bundled with the fried chicken cookies.

For now, the collaboration is exclusive to China, with no official word on whether it will make its way to other markets.

As unusual as fried chicken OREOs may sound, the brands have embraced unconventional flavors before. KFC has experimented with everything from gravy ice cream to The Simpsons-inspired menu items, while OREO has released flavors inspired by dill pickles, Thanksgiving dinner, and other unexpected foods over the years.
