“Jiro Dreams of Sushi” – A Promising Sushi-Centered Feature Film

Yoshikazu is the heir to Sukiyabashi Jiro, a legendary restaurant ran by his father, 85 year old sushi master Jiro Ono. Will he be able to live up to the challenge? That’s where the story behind Jiro Dreams of Sushi, an 81-minute feature film, picks up.  The drama follows the son’s lifelong quest to create the perfect piece of sushi along with dealing with the pressure of stepping into his father’s shoes.

The film, directed by relative newcomer David Gelb, debuted at the Berlin International Film Festival earlier this month, with U.S. festival premieres in the months to come.
