Woman Claims Chick-Fil-A Milkshake Destroyed Her Teeth, Gave Her a Heart Attack and Ruined Her Life

Chick-Fil-A seems to be in some hot water over its delicious, hand-spun milkshakes; they’re being blamed for essentially ruining a woman’s life.

According to the Houston Chronicle, Cyndi Scruggs, formerly of Dallas, TX, filed a suit, claiming the maraschino cherry on her sweet milkshake was not pitted correctly.

Might not sound like a big deal to the naked ear, but she said it led to her biting into the pit, breaking two of her teeth, developing a gum infection, contracting a blood infection called sepsis, having a heart attack and destroying the planet Krypton.

OK, that last problem wasn’t in the suit.

Dell’s Maraschino Cherries Co. Inc. in New York also had to lawyer up as they provided Chick-Fil-A with the cherries.

The suit reads, “Defendant Dell’s Maraschino Cherries, as a producer, supplier and distributor of maraschino cherries to restaurants or food establishments throughout the United States, including Texas, failed to use that degree of care that would be used by a maraschino cherry de-pitting owner or company of ordinary prudence under the same or similar circumstances.”

Can you really put a price on such a dramatic, life-altering event? Sure. Scruggs is seeking damages between $200,000 and $1 million.

That could end up being one expensive cherry.
