Spot A Yellow Cap Coke? Here’s Why You Should Grab It

Coca-Cola fans—right now is the perfect time to stock up, but only if it has a yellow cap.

Standard Coca-Cola bottles come marked with their signature red caps and use high fructose corn syrup. Mexican Coke, on the other hand, uses real cane sugar, which comes with a higher price tag and delivers a smoother, cleaner finish.

Each year, however, Coca-Cola releases a limited yellow-capped version that uses real cane sugar, similar to Mexican Coke, but sells it at the standard product’s price. The yellow cap also signals that the soda meets Kosher guidelines for those observing Passover and avoiding corn, which explains why these bottles hit shelves around this time.

Some may overlook the subtle cap color difference, but many fans recognize the difference in flavor between high fructose corn syrup and real cane sugar.

So if you happen to spot a yellow cap bottle of Coca-Cola, it may be worth stocking up on a few before they disappear from shelves again.
