‘Sons of Anarchy’ Season Finale and the Iconic Kitchen Utensil You’ll Never Use Again [SPOILERS]

It was as if Kurt Sutter was writing the season finale of his hit FX show Sons of Anarchy while sitting at a particularly inspiring Thanksgiving dinner table the way it all played out.

For those unfamiliar, Sons of Anarchy (‘SOA’ for short) chronicles the lives of a close-knit outlaw motorcycle club operating out of the fictional town of Charming in California’s Central Valley.

December 10th’s particular episode picks up six seasons in, with club leader Jax Teller’s wife trying to flee town to save the future of her innocent children. It all comes to a grinding hault in the kitchen of Teller’s home, in the sink, with a soon-to-be-iconic carving fork.

Sophie Schillaci at MTV News succinctly chronicles the heartbreak of the Season 6 finale:

The show’s heartbreaking conclusion found Tara (Maggie Siff) lying dead in her kitchen as a crying Jax (Charlie Hunnam) cradled her in his arms. Her killer: Gemma (Katey Sagal), who, in a fit of rage and under the influence of marijuana, drowns Tara in the sink and stabs her repeatedly in the back of her head with a carving fork.

Yeah, it was brutal, heart wrenching, and downright traumatizing to any Sons of Anarchy viewer. Thanks to Kurt Sutter and his writing team, we’ll have to imagine Maggie Siff’s head being impaled by the same tool we use to carve our holiday turkeys. Here’s a quick recap of some of the best food-related comments from Instagram surrounding the finale (fair warning some of these are pretty gruesome):
