Prince’s LOL-Inducing ‘Breakfast Can Wait’ Cover Features Dave Chappelle

Despite his initial hesitancy towards the internet, Prince has won over cyberspace in one fell swoop since making his Twitter debut last Tuesday.

Along with defying gender norms and forever changing the realm of music, the Purple One has proved to be a boss when it comes to social media and payed homage to Dave Chappelle’s classic skit on his latest cover art.

Perfection. Prince gives a major hat tip to one of the most memorable lines, “Game: Blouses,” in Chappelle’s skit that features Charlie Murphy’s recount of the night he and his brother Eddie played basketball with Prince and his entourage, the Revolution. After an epic game of pickup, Prince serves them breakfast, hence the famous image of Chappelle/Prince holding up a serious plate of pancakes.

Whether Prince’s new single, “Breakfast Can Wait,” was made with the famous skit in mind, is up for debate. Either way, you can listen to a snippet below and buy it at Prince’s online store, 3rdEyeTunes.

If you haven’t yet, I absolutely insist you watch Chappelle’s sketch below.
