Man Quits Job With Heartwarming Resignation Cake

Chris Holmes, an official at the UK’s Border Agency, garnered public attention after writing out his resignation letter on a cake. A former employee of renowned chefs Gordon Ramsay and Marcus Wareing, Holmes explained that he was quitting in order to devote more time and energy to his family and budding cake business.

The picture of the cake was taken by his brother-in-law, who works in PR and tweeted it. Since then Holmes’ website has been down due to “capacity problems,” as Holmes cheekily ended the letter with a link to “mrcake.co.uk.”

The aspiring baker has no regrets surrounding the cake-gone-internet-sensation. Well, except one: “The writing was quite fiddly… I would have done it a bit neater if I’d known it was going to go viral,” he told The Guardian.

Some people go angry panda when they quit their job and some people say it with cake. Both are solid choices.
