Jollibee x KATSEYE Just Dropped A Special Korean BBQ Fried Chicken

Jollibee has been on a steady climb in the U.S., and the receipts are there: their Chickenjoy was just voted the best fast food fried chicken in America by USA Today readers for the second year in a row. That’s a back-to-back crown over some serious competition. And now, Jollibee is teaming up with one of the hottest musical acts on the planet for an epic limited-time collab—KATSEYE.

If you don’t know, KATSEYE is the global pop group that’s been racking up streams, headlines, and stadium crowds. Formed through a competition that pulled together rising stars from across the globe, they’re a snapshot of what the new generation of music looks and feels like: diverse, international, and impossible to ignore. And in a way, that mirrors Jollibee’s own story from a beloved Filipino chain to a rapidly expanding international player now shaking up the American fast food scene.

The connection runs deeper with KATSEYE’s lead, Sophia, who grew up in the Philippines on Jollibee—the brand isn’t just food to her, it’s part of her upbringing. Now she’s in a position to share that taste of home with her bandmates and fans around the world. It makes this collab feel more than just a music-meets-food hype. For Sophia and Jollibee, it’s a full-circle moment that bridges heritage with global spotlight.

The special collab menu is headlined by the KATSEYE Special Korean BBQ Fried Chicken, which is  Jollibee’s fried chicken hand-dipped in a sweet soy glaze with a bold smolder of heat. Joining it is the KATSEYE Special Korean BBQ Chicken Sandwich, a crispy juicy, hand-breaded chicken breast fillet dunked in the same glaze and stacked with fresh cilantro, red onion, and cucumber on a toasted brioche bun. Behind the scenes, that spicy kick comes from gochujang—a Korean chili paste known for subtle sweetness and deep umami flavor.

Elie and I pulled up to try the new lineup, and the first thing we noticed? The irresistible smell of the sauce before the tray even landed. What sat in front of us was a bucket of Chickenjoy glistening in Korean BBQ glaze—every craggy surface lacquered in a glossy sheen of umami-packed goodness.

Flavor-wise? Balanced is the word. Potent umami with waves of sweet before the heat lingers just long enough. And here’s how you know it’s real: Elie and I devoured each piece like the limited-run treasures they are. No crumbs left, no regrets. Which is exactly the point, because the Jollibee x KATSEYE collab is only here from September 17 through December 31.

Jollibee is already known for its unique flavors, but this collab feels different. It’s not just a menu drop, it’s a cultural link. It’s proof that food and music can cross borders the same way both KATSEYE and Jollibee have.
