Starbucks Debuts An Horchata Frappuccino To Cool You Off This Summer

Starbucks loves to crank out new, refreshing drinks in the summer, and now that they have almond milk on deck, it allows them to mess around with horchata-flavored drinks.

With that said, their latest summer drink that will probably fill your Instagram feed, is the Horchata Almondmilk Frappuccino.

With the almondmilk base, cinnamon dolce syrup, whipped cream and caramel drizzle, this drink should make you feel like you’re at a taco shop, enjoying a plate full of carne asada tacos, while chugging a large horchata.

OK, that might be a bit of a stretch, but it does taste like horchata, so at least Starbucks didn’t mess that up.

They didn’t even have to bring in any new ingredients for this Frap, so they’re basically trying to stay ahead of the “secret menu” game, because it’s very likely people have already ordering Fraps like this.

When Starbucks released its Almondmilk Macchiato earlier this year, it had a very horchata-like taste, and even had similar ingredients to the new Frappuccino, so maybe it was a bit of a test-run before having the confidence to directly call something “horchata.”

This is also a pretty big drink for Starbucks because it is the first Frappuccino they’ve specifically advertised with their almondmilk.

This seems to be a winner to close out the summer, as it tastes good, isn’t extremely gimmicky like the Unicorn Frappuccino, and can technically stay on the menu for as long as they don’t excommunicate one of the ingredients.
