Here’s Why You Might Want To Celebrate Valentine’s Day At White Castle’s ‘Love Castle’

Maybe I’ve been single for too long, or perhaps I’ve been living under a rock, but I had no idea that every year on Valentine’s Day (except during the pandemic in 2021 and 2022), White Castle transforms its humble fast food joint into a one-of-a-kind event—or should I say, “fine dining” experience—for the evening. Each year, tens of thousands of people make reservations to celebrate Valentine’s Day at White Castle, also known as the “Love Castle.”

Once upon a time, back when I still could stomach playing the dating scene, I vaguely remember going out to eat on Valentine’s Day (groundbreaking, right?). Honestly, it was always a bit of a letdown. Maybe I’ve turned into a jaded, LA-based cynic, but if I ever decide to jump back into the dating scene and feel the need to celebrate V-Day, I’d absolutely, without a doubt, want to go to the “Love Castle.” Everything about it sounds so cheesy—in the most adorably campy way possible.

Sure, the overly lovey-dovey decor might make some people cringe, but I find it absolutely hilarious. If you decide to visit this “fine” establishment, you’ll be greeted by an official hostess and seated at a table adorned with heart-shaped paper petals and sparkly centerpieces. It sounds like the most delightfully ridiculous and one-of-a-kind date night ever.
