According to Google, "trending" queries are searches that received high spikes in traffic over a sustained period during 2023.

Although it's clear that hundreds of people searched for the items on this list, if you're someone who hasn't, you might be surprised by the picks.

GRIMACE SHAKE

This June release from McDonald's was so popular that it spawned a hilarious, borderline spooky, viral trend. Grimace is easily one of McDonald's most beloved characters, and that was proven when everyone flocked in droves to get their hands on this tasty limited-time treat. I wouldn't be surprised if it returns next year.

LASAGNA SOUP

This is a surprising entry for me, as I was heavily into lasagna soup two years ago. It's literally one of the best recipes I've made in years and I constantly recommend it. Thanks to TikTok, this amazing recipe skyrocketed into the timelines of lasagna lovers everywhere. It's so good that you'll want to cook it for years to come.

CHICKEN COBBLER

This hearty helping of creamy chicken, crust, and veggies also received a boost from TikTok's viral engine. Rather than using fresh ingredients, the recipe was made for people with busy schedules and incorporates pre-cooked chicken, frozen veggies, and other ready-made ingredients. BLACK CAKE

As with every year, love is in the air and brooms are being jumped. When it comes to weddings, white cake is usually the go-to, but this year black wedding cake took center stage. Unconventional yet eye-catching, black cakes are certainly one way to make your special day stand out. The trend is not to be confused with the original black cake, which is popular in Jamaica and also referred to as rum cake.
