Del Taco Launches New Dulce de Leche Caramel Shake

Starting today, Southern California-based Del Taco chain will be serving up a new sippable thickness in the form of a Dulce de Leche Caramel Shake. The literal translation of Dulce de Leche means “sweet of the milk” or “milk jam,” and in food form is usually comprised of a thick, caramel-like milk-based sauce or spread.

Dulce de Leche’s roots trace back to Argentina, although the actual point of origin hasn’t been verified. It’s also a well known dessert flavor in Paraguay and Uruguay, along with other Latin countries under other names and variations.
