Crazy Alcoholic Ice Cream Flavors Inspired by Zelda Fitzgerald’s ‘Free Spirit’

This is a series of ice cream flavors inspired by the Mrs. Fitzgerald’s free spirit, and by “free spirit,” they apparently mean “free spirits” – as in, the ones she and her husband would “occasionally” enjoy during Prohibition.

But first, a brief history lesson: Miss Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald was raised the privileged daughter of a wealthy southern Supreme Court Justice and served most notably as the inspiration for the characters of Rosalind Connage in Fitzgerald’s first novel This Side of Paradise, as well as the iconic flapper madwoman Daisy Buchanan in The Great Gatsby. (For those who don’t know, both novels follow essentially the same plot: hapless status-obsessed author surrogate falls in love with beautiful, yet unimpressed b*tch, author surrogate goes away to improve himself before finally returning, years later, to try and win back the girl only to suffer dearly for it.)

Created by Ohio-based ice cream company Jenis, the Zelda line takes its cues from multiple facets of the young socialite’s life such as her childhood home and love of alcohol, and features flavors such as Blackberries + Sweet Cream, Loveless Biscuits + Peach Jam, Dark Chocolate Rye and Cognac + Marmalade.

Of course, because “you can’t repeat the past” no matter how many pink suits you own, the Zelda ice creams have, sadly, already sold out. It’s okay though bro, you’re much better off without it. Trust us.
