Campbell’s Proudly Stamps Products With GMO Labels

Apparently Campbell’s isn’t scared off by Genetically Modified Organisms and will now be the first major food company to openly post them on all their food labels.

For years, there have been fights for GMO food labeling, but a bill requiring companies to do so has yet to pass.

The fear of GMOs has caused several restaurants such as Subway, Chipotle, Panera Bread, Car’s Jr. and Taco bell to steer toward the “All-Natural” route, but Campbell’s isn’t changing a thing, in fact, through a Facebook post, the company stated they “believe GMO foods are safe and play an important role in feeding the world.”

Although their stance on GMOs is different than the current popular belief that they are unsafe in food, Campbell’s is setting the precedent to let the consumer be aware of everything that’s in their food.

As they said in their statement, “Food manufacturers need to be transparent on their labels.”

At that point, it’ll be up to us, the consumer, to decide if we still want to eat it or not.
