The Fastest And Easiest Way To Chill Your Beer

We’ve all played the waiting game during a BBQ or beach day, as you fill up the cooler with ice and await your beloved beverages to get cold.

A faster alternative is always welcome, and thankfully, science has finally provided us with one that can chill your beer in about five minutes.

According to Popular Science, the fastest way to chill your beer still involves an ice chest, ice, and water, but the secret to revving things up is salt — and lots of it.

The reason this works so well is that salt can let water reach temperatures that exceed its freezing point, but will keep it in a liquid state. That means your beer is exposed to water that technically should be frozen solid, but instead keeps its liquid form, perfect to dump your 30-pack in.

The ice water’s liquid state is great for conducting heat, meaning it quickly takes the heat coming from your beer, and allows it to chill faster.

If you want your can or bottle ready even faster, you can spin it(don’t shake) in the ice bath for a few minutes, but come on, just wait the five minutes.

So adding saltwater to your icy cooler will do the trick and make sure your beer is chilled and ready before the game starts.
