The Atlanta Falcons’ New Stadium Has A Chick-Fil-A, But It’s Only Open For One Game

When the Atlanta Falcons made their choice of fast food options to have in their brand new stadium, they may have made a mistake bigger than blowing a 25-point lead in the Super Bowl.

According to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, the football team’s new arena will have a Chick-Fil-A inside of it, ready to serve up some of the best fast food fried chicken the nation has to offer. There’s just one major problem with this: The Chick-Fil-A, like all other locations, will be closed on Sundays. That means that anytime the Falcons play at home on a Sunday this upcoming season, Chick-Fil-A will be closed.

Now, that may seem fine, because the Chick-Fil-A can just be open for all home games that aren’t played on Sundays. Looking at the Falcons schedule, however, reveals that there’s only ONE game where that’s the case… a Thursday Night Football showdown on December 7th.

Why did the stadium decide to take on a vendor that would only be open one out of the eight football games hosted throughout the entire year? It seems like a huge mishap, since for the majority of the season, that Chick-Fil-A stand will be empty, dark, and contributing no revenue whatsoever.

Rovell speculated that it could just be a huge marketing scheme for the Falcons and Chick-Fil-A to draw a bigger crowd for that Thursday game. It could also just be both sides being stubborn, with the Falcons wanting a Chick-Fil-A and the restaurant refusing to operate on Sundays.

We also know from Rovell that the fast food stand will be open during soccer games and other events hosted by the stadium that aren’t on a Sunday, so I’m guessing that’s where they expect to make their Chick-Fil-A money.

Still, it’s gonna be a bummer for most Falcons fans that come to the game expecting to be able to chow down on Chick-Fil-A favorites while watching football. Ah well, at least they have an extremely cheap stadium menu to buy other food off of already.
