Frozen Food Pioneer Amy's Kitchen Is Developing A Cheap, Healthy Fast Food Chain

When you go to any grocery store today, you're likely to find products from Amy's Kitchen. Their frozen vegetarian meals are ubiquitous with the freezer aisle, and serve as a great healthy meal option. Amy's isn't settling for just being omnipresent in stores, however. They're looking to get deep into the fast food chain business as well.

According to Fast Company, Amy's Drive Thru, a fast food concept the business opened in 2015, will look to become a chain over the next few years. They already are very successful with their sole drive-thru spot in Rohnert Park, California. Thus, Amy's Kitchen is looking to open a few more locations to take root as a vegetarian fast food chain. They'll be opening their newest location in 2018 in Corte Madera. Five more locations are planned to open up afterward.

Amy's Drive Thru is booming because of its high-quality food at a good price. Vegetarians, vegans, gluten-free dieters, and even omnivores can all find enjoyable healthy food that doesn't break the wallet. Nothing on the menu is priced at more than $7, and even the breakfasts are kept low at $5. For a chain specializing in healthier foods, that's some pretty impressive price points.

Eventually, Amy's does hope to become a fast food icon as well with locations across the United States. While that time may be far off, we'll be rooting for the company's success as they continue to feed us at the drive-thru and in stores.
