“Fast Food Bandit” Caught After 28 Restaurant Robberies

They got him. For about two months, Joshua Nitschke has been running around Pierce County WA, robbing fast food restaurants. Nitschke even developed a system where he would alternate between fast food places every couple of days, roll in with a fake gun and then proceed to rob the cashiers.

Though he would never take more than $100 and sometimes even as little as $15, the “Fast Food Bandit” made a name for himself. His preferred places to rob were mostly Subways and Pizzerias.

Police started catching on to Nitschke and began patrolling the area hoping to catch the him in the act. Luckily they were able to apprehend him in the midst of a robbery at a Subway on South Tacoma Way. Nitschke, along with his girlfriend, were arrested and charged for all the robberies.

Before his arrest, Nitschke robbed a total of 28 restaurants in Washington.
