French’s is entering its green mustard phase.

The iconic yellow mustard brand turned its signature squeeze green for a new limited-edition release called Goomi’s Green Mustard, launching nationwide June 1 in partnership with Illumination’s upcoming Minions & Monsters film.

And somehow, seeing bright green mustard feels way more unsettling than it probably should.

The color swap comes from spirulina, a plant-based ingredient that gives the mustard its radioactive-looking glow without changing the flavor itself. French’s says the new version still uses the same #1 grade mustard seeds and keeps the same tangy profile people have been dragging across burgers, hot dogs, and loaded cookout plates for generations.

The collab centers around Goomi, a small monster character from the upcoming movie who “takes over” the French’s factory and transforms the mustard from yellow to green. French’s even launched the campaign with a takeover event at The Grove in Los Angeles, where fans ate hot dogs topped with green mustard and hit giant buttons that triggered the condiment transformation in real time.

The rollout includes three products overall: Goomi’s Green Mustard, classic yellow mustard in special Minions & Monsters packaging, and an online-exclusive two-pack that bundles both bottles with a collectible Minion topper.
