California Pizza Kitchen’s Most Iconic Salad Is Now At Vending Machines

California Pizza Kitchen is doing something wild: its most iconic salad is leaving the restaurant for the first time in 40 years. The best part is you won’t need a waiter, a menu, or even a table to get it.

Starting September 22, CPK’s Original BBQ Chicken Chopped Salad will be stocked inside more than 1,800 Farmer’s Fridge smart fridges across the country. Think airports, hospitals, office buildings, stadiums, and college campuses—basically anywhere you’ve ever been hungry, stressed, and questioning your life choices.

This isn’t just any salad either. CPK’s BBQ Chicken Chopped is arguably one of the most recognizable restaurant salads in America. It’s been on the menu for four decades, piling on BBQ chicken breast, black beans, sweet corn, jicama, cilantro, basil, tortilla strips, Monterey Jack, CPK’s signature herb ranch, and BBQ sauce. Then topping it all with tomatoes and scallions for that “oh, this is an actual meal” finish.

Farmer’s Fridge is giving it the portable treatment, layering it into their reusable jars so you can shake it up and devour it anywhere. Prices start at $10.99. Not bad considering you’re eating an actual restaurant classic out of what’s basically a futuristic salad machine.

So yeah, California Pizza Kitchen stepped boldly into food convenience. First stop: a vending machine near you. Next stop: probably your fridge at home.
