Wendy’s Is Testing Underground Robot Delivery For Pick Up Orders

Looking to upgrade the customer experience, Wendy’s has announced a partnership with hyperlogistics company Pipedream. According to FOX 10, the plan is to test out an autonomous robot delivery system for mobile orders. The new system would assist employees with managing customer flow, and apparently gets the job done in mere seconds.

It works by transporting digital orders underground from the kitchen to designated parking spots. Deepak Ajmani, the U.S. chief operations officer at Wendy’s, shared in a press statement, “We know that serving orders quickly and accurately leads to increased customer satisfaction. Pipedream’s instant pickup system has the potential to unlock greater mobile order speed of service and accuracy, enabling us to consistently deliver hot and fresh Wendy’s products to our fans.”

Wendy’s plans to test out the new system at an existing location later this year.
