Australian Diner Experience Inspired By Rude Karens Coming To U.S.

An Australian restaurant chain called Karen’s Diner, where the staff is known for their rudeness to customers, is expanding to locations across the U.S. With the tagline “Great Burgers & Very Rude Service”, hungry patrons can expect a side of disrespect with their meal.

The inspiration came from poking fun at “Karens”, a term these days that refers to a pejorative slang term for an obnoxious, angry, entitled, and an often racist middle-aged white woman who uses her privilege to get her way or police other people’s behaviors.

We previously shared some viral TikTok clips that give an inside look at the rude ruckus you’re likely to experience while trying to enjoy your burger.

Beginning next year, American-based Karens will have the chance to get their privilege tested with Karen’s Diner pop ups hitting Cleveland, Denver, Houston, Austin, Los Angeles, New York, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, and Chicago.

“If you’ve got a mate who’s a bit up their own ass, you now know where to find us! Maybe it’s even to break the first date ice or give your partner a roasting for not messaging back quickly enough. Whatever it is, we have you covered so sit back and watch the carnage unfold,” the event description reads.

If you can handle a bit of rudeness or have friends you think can come down a notch, tickets in the cities above are now available to book.
