Wendy’s Spicy Nuggets Officially Returning In August

Wendy’s is finally making good on their promise to bring back its spicy chicken nuggets, announcing that August 19 will be the day that fast food justice prevails.

Wendy’s promised fans that they’d bring back their beloved spicy nuggets, after Chance the Rapper made the request in early May.

It didn’t seem like a publicity stunt, but Wendy’s ran with it and tweeted at Chance saying, “The people in charge say if you guys can get our tweet to 2 Million likes, with will bring SPICY CHICKEN NUGGETS BACK.”

It seemed almost impossible, seeing how 2 million likes would be the all-time Twitter record, but spicy nugget fans were not to be underestimated. The goal was demolished in less than two days, and while a return date was not set at the time, they promised it was coming.

Chance the Rapper said he would be releasing his album on the same date as the nugget release, then started promoting a July album drop, leading many to believe the nuggets would follow that timeline.

Unfortunately, unless Chance changes his plans, the two summer drops will not coincide.

Wendy’s has gone as far as creating a Google Calendar invite link that fans can click on and save the date. It’s kind of cute, and honestly, I probably will be marking my calendar as an admitted spicy nugget fiend.
