Costco Has Their Own Version Of Egg Bites, And They’re Super Cheap

Costco is now carrying their own version of Starbucks’ Sous Vide Egg Bites, only that it’s a lot cheaper than the coffee chain’s original.

Created by Three Bridges, these Cheese & Uncured Bacon Egg Bites are an at-home version similar to what Starbucks has in stores, but at a much lower price point. As a reference, an order of 2 pieces of Starbucks’ variant costs $4.45, while you can get a pack of 8 from Costco for around $9.79. That puts the price of each of these egg bites at about half of what you can get at the coffee chain.

In terms of taste, the two are pretty comparable. You get the same fluffy airiness of the egg bites in the Three Bridges version as is in Starbucks’, however, the store-bought ones tastes a bit stronger in terms of cheese flavor. The two do use different cheeses (with Three Bridges opting for cheddar instead of gruyere), which could explain that difference.

If you’re a fan of Starbucks’ Sous Vide Egg Bites but want to get them at a lower cost, this Costco version is an ideal substitute. They only take 60 seconds to heat up in a microwave, so they’re perfect for those looking for a quick, on-the-go, protein packed breakfast.

A spokesperson for Valley Fine Foods (the company behind Three Bridges) told Foodbeast that their version of the Egg Bites is available for limited distribution at Costcos in the Bay Area, Sacramento, and Reno, NV. They hope to get into more Costcos as the year progresses, and target to be available across the entire West Coast by the end of the year.
