Irish Restaurant Pissed That McDonald’s Trademarks All Things ‘Mc’

The Irish are known for the common usage of “Mc” or “Mac” in their names, so when they want to create a food item that involves the prefix, you can imagine how annoying it can be that McDonald’s trademarks pretty much every “McThing” out there.

The Supermac’s Irish fast food restaurant recently accused McDonald’s of being “trademark bullies,” since the Golden Arches trademark things that don’t even make sense, such as McKids, McHome, McWallet, McInternet, and even McMor, according the the Irish Times.

Supermac’s tried to trademark some curry chips, and other items with the Irish-known prefix, and McDonald’s cock blocked them immediately.

The Irish restaurant’s owner Pat McDonagh (That name is Irish AF) is pretty pissed, and wants the European Union to do something about McDonald’s stranglehold on every McTrademark.

It makes sense for McDonald’s to trademark its food items, and potential future food item names, but they should show the Irish a little McLove.
