Customers Bullied Chick-Fil-A Into Bringing Back Its Original BBQ Sauce

Nowadays, if people are unhappy with something, they tweet about it. Some just do it to vent frustration, while others tweet in hopes of making a change.

Well, Chick-Fil-A felt the wrath of social media when the chain tried to introduce a new Smokehouse Barbecue Sauce in July. The new sauce quickly became the subject of hundreds of angry tweets from fans voicing their dissatisfaction about the sudden discontinuation of Chick-Fil-A’s original barbecue sauce.

While Chick-Fil-A thought their fans would be down for the new version, they were immediately proven wrong. The hashtag #BringBackTheBBQ became viral and captured the attention of self-proclaimed creator of the Original Chicken Sandwich.

Chick-Fil-A even tried responding with a logical explanation, but the damage had already been done.

Someone even made a Change.org page to round-up support for the return of the original Smokey Barbecue Sauce. The page has more than 2,000 supporters.

It only took four months and Chick-Fil-A realized customers basically hated the new version, forcing their had to announce that the sauce would be back in November.

While we wish most real-world problems could be solved by ranting on Twitter, sadly it doesn’t always happen so smoothly. Way to go Chick-Fil-A fans! Now, only if we could get them to stay open seven days a week.
