Chick-fil-A’s New ‘FROSTED COFFEE’ Is A Lot To Be Excited About

Chick-fil-A is offering up a nice wakeup jolt to its customers who are looking for more coffee options when running through their store.

Starting Monday, March 14th, they will begin selling a Frosted Coffee that combines their signature “Icedream” with THRIVE Farmers cold-brewed ice coffee. It’s not ICED coffee (hot brew, chilled, and poured over ice), the brand’s press release assures us — we’re receiving true cold-brew that’s been achieved through a cool filtration and steeping process, which naturally takes up to 24 hours and leaves us with a sweeter, less acidic and bitter taste.

This cold brew is then blended with their old-fashioned vanilla Icedream to froth up for the chain’s take on a Frappuccino, with admittedly less shit in it. Frosted Coffee is not their foray into frozen drinks, as this seems to be line-addition to their Frosted Lemonade which they added back in 2015.

“Frosted Coffee will be available in a small (14-ounce) or large (20-ounce) serving with prices starting at $2.69 for a small. A limited-time menu option, Frosted Coffee will be available through May 31, 2016.

Chick-fil-A partnered with THRIVE Farmers Coffee in 2014, becoming the first in the quick-service industry to offer specialty-grade coffee. The sale of each cup of coffee provides direct revenue to the THRIVE Farmers network of family farmers in Central America. The farmer-direct platform allows the farmers to earn up to 10 times more than farmers earn in traditional revenue models.” — Chick-fil-A

The hand-spun coffee drink’s smaller size begins at 240 calories, which they advertise as less than their milkshake — but it’s just as much if not more caloric then similarly purchased frozen coffee beverages from competing joints (think Starbucks).
