AWESOME: You Can Now 3D Print with Nutella

Nutella’s so good, you can now print it.

Structur3D Printing is running a Kickstarter campaign for a universal paste extruder called the Discov3ry Exruder that goes beyond the typical plastic material printing. That means paste-like materials can be printed through any filament-based 3D printer.

Among the things that can be created through this extruder are Nutella and sugar icing.

Their original goal was to raise $30,000 for their project, but they blew past that number a few days into their Kickstarter campaign and currently stand at over $80,000 raised, with over 300 backers.

The idea behind the Discov3ry Extruder is to make 3D printing “More relevant to everyday uses”.

The project is scheduled to be funded July 15 and now offers more print color options for their backers.

Along with the Nutella printing, they also printed star wars sugar icing toppers and frosted cupcakes using the Discov3ry Extruder.

While it’s cool (and delicious) to make Nutella-filled treats, Structur3D Printing looks to go beyond the typical 3D creations. 3D 3-course meals? It’s only a matter of time, folks.
