Burger King Now Trans-Fat Free

Burger King is going trans-fat free. The second most popular burger chain in the US, behind McDonalds, announced yesterday that all of their locations nationwide have made the switch to cooking with trans fat free oils. By November 1, Burger King announced that all of its menu items, including baked goods, will not have any trans fat.

The execs at BK had set their deadline to make the shift by the end of 2008, but restaurants were able to make the switch earlier because suppliers were able to manufacture enough trans fat free oil sooner than expected. Burger King CEO John Chidsey said that customers who tried the new trans fat free food said that they couldn’t tell a difference in taste or liked the new taste better.
