This Grandma Sent The Wrong Person A Thanksgiving Invite, Now Stove Top Is Giving Them Free Stuffing

It’s not unusual to get a holiday text, or call from your grandma, but it is a tad bit awkward getting a text from someone else’s grandma.

That’s what happened to Jamal Hinton of Chandler, Arizona, as he received a text from an unknown phone number, with the person saying she was his grandma. Skeptical, Hinton asked for a photo of his alleged grandmother, and upon receiving the pic, he learned it was most certainly a false granny.

It did lead to a cute conversation where Hinton asked if he could get get a Thanksgiving plate from her anyway, and the grandma lovingly agreed.

They weren’t messing around, either, as Hinton said he’s actually going to have Thanksgiving dinner with her and bring some pumpkin pie.

Now, a touching story like that wouldn’t be complete without brands trying to gracefully jump in and capitalize on the moment, so this dinner is going to be public, with brands like Stove Top bringing the stuffing. A lot of stuffing.

A mistake text usually ends with something like, “Sorry, wrong number,” so it’s nice that this one ended with a new friendship and people getting together over Thanksgiving dinner.
