Trader Joe’s fans have a delectable new addition to look forward to this week. The beloved grocery chain has teamed up with Hardywood Park Craft Brewery to introduce a Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter. This indulgent brew, inspired by Trader Joe’s fan-favorite Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups, promises a rich blend of chocolate malt and peanut butter flavors.

Unveiled on the “Inside Trader Joe’s” podcast, this imperial porter boasts a robust 9.2% ABV, making it a perfect choice for dark beer enthusiasts. Crafted with dark roasted grains for a chocolate base and defatted peanut powder for smooth nutty undertones. Virginia-based Hardywood, known for its expertise in dark beers, ensures this collaboration does justice to its delicious inspiration.

“If you left the oils in the peanut butter, you wouldn’t get the foamy head that the beer produces when you pour it into a glass. It would interfere chemically with the reaction that causes that foamy head to happen,” vice president of marketing Tara Miller explains in the episode. “During the tasting panel, the whole group, our hands shot up in ‘yes’ votes almost immediately.”

Beer aficionados can look forward to sipping this decadent brew available in 16-ounce tallboys at Trader Joe’s locations, offering a unique pairing for chocolate and beer lovers alike.
