Starbucks Just Teamed Up With Dream Pops For What Could Be Their Newest Food Success

Remember Dream Pops, the vegan, 3-D printed popsicle molds that went viral for their chic and modern design? Well, the liquid nitrogen pops are teaming up with Starbucks in what could potentially be the coffee chain’s most successful food launch since Bantam Bagels.

The initial launch of Starbucks’ Dream Pops Line will be small, with the desserts only available at five stores around Los Angeles. However, that leaves plenty of potential room for the partnership to grow into something that could encompass the entire nation, if not the world.

Bantam Bagels went down the exact same route with their cream-cheese stuffed bagel bombs. A small company out of New York, their viral Shark Tank pitch led to rapid growth and an eventual pickup from Starbucks. That team-up began with 500 Starbucks locations, but in just 3 short years, has expanded to nearly all 11,000. Granted, Dream Pops has a lot more ground to cover than Bantam did at the start.

The  line of Starbucks popsicles is a win-win for both sides. Starbucks gets a new lineup of vegan superfood treats to draw in that health-conscious crowd, and also adds some visual pop to their eats by adding a frozen popsicle for the first time.

In return, Dream Pops gets the ability to grow and expand rapidly, turning them into a national ice cream powerhouse that could bring a new, healthy image to Instagram-worthy desserts.

Dream Pops are now available at five Starbucks locations in the greater Los Angeles area, and will be there through Oct. 5. Their regular lineup, along with a new “Chocolate Lion” flavor, will be sold.

The five LA locations selling Dream Pops are at La Brea and 4th, Melrose and Stanley, Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade, Wilshire and Santa Monica, and San Vincente and Barrington.

For everyone else hoping to get their hands on Dream Pops, their website will have direct nationwide to consumer capabilities starting National Ice Cream Day, July 15th.
