Shocked Man Discovers 143 Hot Sauces In His Usual Taco Bell Order

One of the worst feelings has to be hitting up Taco Bell after a long night, ordering your go-to meal, asking for condiments, and then only getting two measly packets. Like, did you annoy the cashier by yelling your order from the back of the Uber? Are they just having a rough shift? Or do they assume most people are wasteful and only need a handful anyway? But then there are those rare, tear-jerking moments that restore your faith, like when one man, Michael Spencer, got blessed with 143—yes, you read that right—143 packets of classic Taco Bell hot sauce.

Taco Bell’s standard hot sauces—like the breakfast, mild, hot, fire, and diablo packets—are always free of charge. But getting a few extras with your order is one thing; getting over a hundred sauce packets for just a couple of tacos and a steak quesadilla is on a whole other level. So, what’s the deal? Did someone at Taco Bell have a crush on Michael Spencer and shower him with 143 hot sauce packets? Was it some kind of cosmic good karma payback? We might never know.

“I ordered my usual from Taco Bell today—two tacos and a steak quesadilla with 10 fire packets because I’m a creature of habit and never change my order,” Spencer shared. “When the food was delivered to my doorstep this evening, I was greeted with 143 sauce packets (minus the 5 I ate) which I counted and organized into their heat categories and then by their statements on the packet.”

We hope this story has you laughing out loud and brings a goofy smile to your face. Michael Spencer shared his experience on a Facebook post on Dull Men’s Club, where he invites us to “discuss the joy to be found in everyday, mundane, dull things.”

Spencer, who never asked for this jaw-dropping amount of sauce, ended up with a total of 27 Diablo, 60 Fire, 21 Hot, 16 Mild, and 14 Breakfast Salsa packets (plus five more that he consumed but didn’t specify). If you’re wondering what happened to this spicy stash, rest easy—the sauces didn’t go to waste. Spencer shared, “I have brought them to work now. I kept some for myself and left the rest in the break room for other employees.”
